Hello and welcome

My name is Taif Aljaberi, I am a psychologist and therapist based in Prague. I am originally from Iraq and have previously lived in the United Arab Emirates. I have been living in Czechia since 2015. I have a bachelor’s and master’s degree in psychology from University of New York in Prague and training in integrative psychotherapy.

I help people with mental health struggles through evidence based practiced. The main paradigms I utilise in mental health aid are Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Schema Therapy.

I moved between different countries and cultures and it has been an important part of my own life and has shaped my interest in how culture, relationships, and our social environment influence the way we understand ourselves and the difficulties we face. My education, practice, and personal life are tied together and form my style in helping others. I draw from personal experience as well as empirical practice.

I worked across multiple health care centres (Beroun Hospital and mental health clinics), with mainstream struggles such as anxiety, depression, adjustment issues, and personality disorders. In addition, I work supporting people through cultural and social transitions, including expatriate life, culture shock, questions of belonging and identity, and adapting to a new environment. I also work with people navigating changes in their religious beliefs, including religious deconstruction and reconstruction, as well as the questions of meaning and purpose that can accompany these experiences.

For me, therapy (and life) is a collaborative process of continuous becoming. My role is not to give ready-made answers, but to listen carefully, understand your particular experience, and help you explore the patterns, beliefs, and experiences that shape your life. Together, we can consider what you would like to understand, change, or approach differently.
